The trailer Capcom dropped earlier this week showcases the Tyrant, or 'Mr. X' as he's affectionately referred to by the community ever since S.D. Perry novelized Resident Evil 2 in 1999.

The footsteps, the music, hell even the way he reacts to getting stabbed, is giving me some major Terminator vibes.

God I can't fucking wait. Hurry up, January 26th!!!

I've been in a Resident Evil mood the past week or so.

After more than a decade of begging and pleading, Capcom finally bowed to our requests, and on August 12th, revealed that Resident Evil 2 Remake had started development.

Were I a betting man, I'd wager that "RE2make" will see it's release in January 2018, for the game's 20th anniversary (the franchise's 20th anniversary is March 22nd of this year).

I was only 10 when I watched an older cousin play through Resident Evil 2 in 1998. It cemented my interest in the franchise at a relatively young age.

My mom's insistence on making me wait until 17 to play M-rated horror games (Halo and Turok were the exceptions) luckily gave Capcom the time to release REmake, months before I had a GameCube controller in my hands. It was an agonizing wait, but worth it.

And now, I'm ready to wait again.

After watching the Claire footage from Gamescom, my fears are becoming more founded: Capcom's western dialogue hasn't been this bad since Lost Planet (at least of the Capcom games I've played).

The combat dialogue is laughably, horrendously bad. There is no panic. There is no emotion.

Well, it has been confirmed that the Resident Evil 2 "1-shot" demo is coming to all platforms (Xbox, Playstation, Steam) on Friday.

Players will have 30 minutes to play. Once. The timer pauses when in menus. If you complete the demo before time is up, you can restart to use up any time remaining.

Once time is up, you are locked out. No redownloading, no restarting. That's it.
